Accomplishments & Interests

Gaia Remerowski is The Genome Institute’s Communications Coordinator. Her goal is to bring The Genome Institute’s work in the constantly advancing field of genomics to the scientific community and to the general public in an accessible and entertaining way. She supports the use of both traditional and social media to disseminate information about the science of genomics and the ground-breaking research going on at The Genome Institute.

Gaia has an M.S. (2003) from Boston University’s Center for Science and Medical Journalism and a B.S. (2002) in Microbiology and Immunology from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Prior to joining The Genome Institute, Gaia worked as Senior Researcher at NOVA, a longstanding educational science series that airs on public television. In this position she researched and developed stories for both NOVA and the spin off magazine-style series, NOVA scienceNOW. Some of the programs she has been involved with include the Emmy-award-winning public health series Rx for Survival – A Global Health Challenge, Peabody recipient Judgment Day: Intelligent Design on Trial, The Big Energy Gamble and the AAAS/Kavli Award-winning NOVA scienceNOW segment Diamond Factory. She was also a frequent contributor to the series blog, Inside NOVA, and to the NOVA beta website on evolution.
