Music

I've played the accordion since I was a young boy. My brother Steve and I have been performing for more than two decades, primarily ethnic German folk music from the Banat region where my family originates. We are trying to preserve the culture, language, traditions, and cuisine of this past way of life and hope to pass these things onto our children. Here's a picture from the St. Louis Strassenfest from a few years ago (the rest of the band is to my left, sorry guys :)

Here's another picture of my father (right) and I (left) with Hans Gans (middle), one of the premier accordionists of this type of music, taken in 2006 at American Aid Society's Lake Villa grounds. He was the leader of "Die Goldene Drei" out of Chicago, who were at their height in the 1970s.

If you're interested in finding out more about these topics, there are a number of good organizations right here in the St. Louis metro area.
