Nathan Stitziel, MD, PhD

Assistant Professor of Medicine and Genetics

Nathan Stitziel is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Genetics, an Assistant Director of the McDonnell Genome Institute, and Director of the Center for Cardiovascular Genetics at the Washington University School of Medicine. His work at MGI dates back to 1998 when he worked as a research programmer in the genome assembly finishing group. After obtaining MD and PhD degrees, clinical training in Internal Medicine and Cardiology, and postdoctoral research training in cardiovascular genetics, Nathan returned to Washington University and MGI as faculty in 2012. Using a variety of techniques in human genetics and genomics, his lab is interested in understanding the inherited basis of Mendelian and complex forms of cardiovascular disease. He currently co-directs MGI’s CCDG program.
